Interesting facts about human brain
The brain is one of the most amazing parts of the human body. It is part of the Central nervous system. We can say that the brain is the core that controls the man. Even now, in an age when dominated by science and technology people could not study the brain fully. However, scientists have revealed some interesting facts concerning the brain 1. Sport helps to work brain better. Scientists have recently learned that for a period of time after exercised, body produces a chemical that makes brain more receptive to learning. 2. Human brains consume more energy than any other part of the body. Even though brain only makes about less than 3% of entire body, it takes up a whopping 20% of energy to operate. A lot of this energy goes towards the maintenance and production of cell-growth. The remaining energy is used to fuel electrical impulses in the body so that they work better with one another. 3. Baby Brains Each person has about the same number of brain cells at birth as in adulthood, but those cells grow, reaching maximum size at about age six. The most rapid brain development occurs in children aged 2 to 11 years. 4. People can’t tickle yourself because their brain distinguishes between unexpected external touch and own touch. 5. The connection between body and mind is a strong one. One estimate is that between 50-70 percent of visits to the doctor for physical ailments are attributed to psychological factors 6. Memory Every time people recall a memory or have a new thought, their brains are creating a new connection. Memories triggered by scent have a stronger emotional connection, and therefore appear more intense than other memory triggers. While we sleep at night may be the best time for our brain to consolidate all our memories from the day. Lack of sleep may actually hurt our ability to create new memories 7. Prayer has a beneficial effect on the activity of the brain. During the prayer the perception of information the person is, bypassing the thought processes and analysis, in other words the person goes away from reality. In this state (as in meditation) in the brain occur Delta waves, which are usually recorded in infants in the first six months of his life. Perhaps it was this fact affects what people that regularly sends religious rites, get sick less often and recover faster. 8. The brain easier to understand men than women. Male and female voices affect different parts of the brain. Female voice it is more musical, sound at higher frequencies, the frequency range is thus wider than that of male voters. The human brain has to "decipher" the meaning of what the woman says, using their additional resources. By the way, people suffering from auditory hallucinations, often hear mens words. 9. Signals in the nervous system reaches speeds of 288 km/h. With age the speed reduced by 15 percent. 10. Some people (about 12%) dream only in black and white while others dream in color. 11. The man brain is made up mostly of water. On the same note, this is why people often feel dizzy, or can’t remember anything when they are dehydrated. 12. Brain loves flaws Flaws make us real, they makes us whole and scientific research proves that making mistakes actually makes us more likeable. This is due to the pratfall effect. 13. The brain enables us to determine if someone is in a good mood, is feeling sad, or is angry. All this is possible just by reading the other persons face. We can easily detect this because a small area in our brain called the amygdala is responsible for our ability to read someone else’s face for clues to how they are feeling. 14. When people starve yourself, their brain cells also starve, causing neurons to begin eating parts of themselves for energy. Our brain cells will devour themselves as a last ditch source of energy to ward off starvation. 15. The brain continues to form new connections between neurons throughout life...
